Help! How should I protect WordPress?
WordPress is one of the most popular CMS available currently (holding 51% of the total websites on the Internet According to BuiltWith.com)
It is easy to see why WordPress is so popular when you look at how frequently the core is updated, the great community of developers and users, and the large plugin repository.
Unfortunately, because WordPress is so widely used, it means it is a larger target for hackers and malicious users.
According to the report by website security company, Sucuri, "over 78% of the sites they worked on were WordPress" in there Q1 Report.
I highly recommend reading the full report. It is quite informative and details out the typical type of infections they see.
So how do you keep your WordPress site (or any CMS really) from being one of the thousands of sites hacked/compromised?
We have a list of things you can do to help keep yourself safe.
AnHonestHost includes Installatron for all our Shared Hosting and Linux Public Cloud Servers, which by default takes backups prior to automatically performing updates (and reverts changes in the event of an update failure).
